Stone Food & Drink Festival visitors to enjoy masterclasses

Visitors to this year's Stone Food & Drink Festival can benefit from cookery masterclasses.

They were added to the festival programme two years ago and proved hugely popular.

This year Beth Lauren Cakes is to lead a master class in the art of cupcake decoration.

Stone's very own star baker, Beth is a trained pastry chef with a degree in Fashion and Illustration.

She will be demonstrating how to decorate two of her velvet chocolate cupcakes, which the participants can then take home.

Sessions will run on Friday at 2pm and 5pm; Saturday and Sunday, 12.30pm and 2pm. The cost of the session is £5 per person in addition to the festival entry price.

Visitors can also learn how to create authentic Indian dishes with Stafford's Indian cookery school iCookIndian.

Amarpal and family will be offering masterclass sessions covering two Indian classics which are both vegetarian.

In the Channa Masala and Jeera rice sessions visitors can discover a dish that blends chickpeas with a host of fragrant spices. Sessions will take place on Friday at 3.30pm; Saturday and Sunday at 10.30am.

The second iCookIndian masterclass features Tarka Daal and Pilaff rice, which combines lentils with carefully balanced spices. Sessions take place on Saturday and Sunday at 3.30pm.

Each of the iCookIndian masterclasses is priced at £8 per person in addition to the festival entry price.

Visitors are reminded that there is a road closure in place during the festival on the B5026 Eccleshall to Stone road.

The festival will take place from Friday to Sunday.

Entry to the main festival site at Westbridge Park is £7 per person per day and free for accompanied under-16s.
