Wolverhampton cafe's not Weakest Link for Anne Robinson

A Wolverhampton cafe was far from the weakest link when it welcomed a top TV personality for lunch.

Staff at Latuske's in Finchfield Road West, Wolverhampton, were 'delighted' when The Weakest Link presenter Anne Robinson dropped in as she filmed for a new BBC series.

Staff and customers at the coffee shop watched as the star, sporting sunglasses on her head and a leather jacket, chatted with her production crew in the seating area outside.

Manager Rebecca Lloyd said the business had been contacted by BBC producers the day before the visit.

She said: "We got a phone call out the blue asking if they could come and film and of course we said yes.

"We were not given much information but think she was filming something to do with a family day out.

"She sat outside and spoke with crew members and we served them but she didn't come into the shop.

"She seemed really nice and stayed throughout the lunch hour. It was fantastic that they chose for her to come here."

The 71-year-old, who is renowned for her hard-hitting presenting style and putdowns on BBC game show The Weakest Link, also fronted consumer series Watchdog and Points of View.

But it was her role on The Weakest Link that earned her the nickname Queen of Mean.

A BBC representative said: "Anne was here filming for a four-part television series that will hit our screens later this year.

"It is part of The Garden productions with Anne working alongside them."

The Garden is a television production company that was launched in June 2010. They make factual programmes for broadcasters in the UK and abroad.
