40 tribute acts lined up for free Wolverhampton music festival WV1

A total of 40 tribute acts will take to the stage at Wolverhampton's West Park this summer in an event which will see 10,000 visitors flock to the park.

The WV1 fest takes place on August 13 and 14 and will include performances from local tribute acts including bands inspired by Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, The Killers, Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Headliners are tributes to the Foo Fighters and Guns'n'Roses, with more acts to be announced.

Visitors need only to pay the £2.90 booking fee toJools Taylor, organiser of the event said: "We've got really high hopes for the festival this year. We have already sold 5,000 tickets.

"We wanted to bring the festival to Wolverhampton as soon as we saw the West Park. It's really in keeping with our family-friendly ethos and we think it's a fantastic venue for music. attend."
