Nuttalls becomes employee-owned partnership
Dudley-based shopfitting and interior display manufacturer Alan Nuttall has become an employee-owned partnership like John Lewis under legislation brought in by the Government last year.

All employees are now partners, with an Employee Ownership Trust holding the majority of shares in the business.
Chairman Alan Nuttall started the Hall Street business in 1966 with just £137 and it has since grown and evolved to become one of the UK's largest, most successful, privately owned shopfitting companies, with numerous product innovations and interiors awards under its belt.
"I am delighted to realise my vision for the business. I was inspired by the John Lewis model and saw this as an opportunity to protect the future of the company by providing long-term, secure ownership," said Mr Nuttall.
Nino Calandra, the managing director, added: "This is a very exciting time for our business. We believe that giving all of our employees a meaningful stake encourages accountability and engagement, with greater rewards as every partner will receive a share of profits."
Already recognised as one of the UK's leading shopfitters, The Alan Nuttall Partnership specialises in interior fit-out, retail display design, manufacture and installation, signage and display equipment for retail, commercial, hospitality, leisure, foodservice and the public sector.
Nuttalls employs 600 staff including designers, skilled joiners, sheet metal engineers, project managers and product designers, within one million square feet of production and logistics space.
The company's wide ranging client portfolio includes top brands in high streets, shopping centres and airports across the UK and worldwide.
According to the Employee Ownership Association, the number of employee owned businesses are growing at almost an annual rate of just under 10 per cent a year.
, with manufacturing businesses forming the second largest group.
