Highlight of the sporting week had to be the cat invading the Anfield pitch.

The feline pitch invader edged into an offside position after casually strolling on to the hallowed turf inside Liverpool’s ground around 10 minutes into the 0-0 draw.

The cat wandered around Tottenham’s penalty area for a few seconds near goalkeeper Brad Friedel, before having a quick sit down, much to the amusement of the 44,000 fans inside the ground.

In true diva style, the brave cat seemed to have made the most of its brief moment in the spotlight after just a couple of minutes and decided to wander towards the sidelines.
