Following a sold-out West End run the show will be performed at Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre from November 26 to 30.

The star was nominated for a prestigious Olivier award for his portrayal of the character Emcee in the musical.

The 34-year-old rose to fame after winning the first Pop Idol contest in 2002, and still holds the record for the fastest selling debut single in British chart history with Evergreen.

As well as scoring four number one singles he has pursued an acting career, appearing with Dame Judi Dench in the film Mrs Henderson Presents.

Cabaret, which is based in the nightclubs of 1931 Weimar Berlin, tells the story of Sally Bowles who performs nightly at the infamous Kit Kat Klub.

The musical was originally premiered on Broadway in 1966 and made into a film starring Liza Minnelli, Michael York and Joel Grey in 1972.

Over the years it has won eight Oscars, seven BAFTAs and 13 Tony awards.

The latest touring show features choreography from Olivier award-winner Javier De Frutos, and well-known songs such as Money Makes the World Go Round, Maybe This Time and the title song Cabaret.

Tickets, costing between £21.50 and £39.50, go on sale Monday at 10am. They are available from 01902 429212 or www.grandtheatre.co.uk
