Derby v Wolves team news: Trio set to miss out
Helder Costa, Matt Doherty and Andy Lonergan are all set to again miss out when Wolves take on Derby County tomorrow.
The trio are sidelined with ankle, hamstring and back injuries respectively.
And all three are also doubts for Wolves' final game of the season against Preston North End next weekend.
Record signing Costa has missed the last six matches after limping out of the warm-up before Wolves' 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
It was initially hoped his absence would be brief, but scans last week showed the problem had worsened and it's unlikely the £13million man will feature again this season.
Doherty is making good progress after hobbling off during the 0-0 draw with Blackburn last weekend, but the Preston game may come too soon for him. Lonergan pulled out shortly before Tuesday's defeat to Huddersfield with a back problem and seems unlikely to be risked in Wolves' final two fixtures.
Andreas Weimann also misses out tomorrow as he's ineligible to face his parent club.
Speaking during Friday afternoon's pre-match press conference Lambert said "Helder's still struggling with his ankle a wee bit.
"He's definitely out tomorrow and whether it progress (for Preston) I don't know, but the scan showed up he's still got a bit of fluid in that joint.
"You can't rush it until it clears.
"Doc's doing okay. I'm not so sure we'll see him but he's doing alright and isn't too bad.
"Andy will be a doubt because of his back. But I don't have a problem with Harry (Burgoyne). As I said, he should have saved that shot on Tuesday, but Harry's done well every time I've asked him to play."
Burgoyne apologised to his team mates for letting the winner in against Huddersfield and Lambert said that was indicative of his character.
"He's got a great temperament," Lambert added. "I don't think big crowds phase him. He's only a young kid so he'll make mistakes but I don't have any problem with his temperament.
"He's a good kid, he's pretty strong mentally and can handle it. If he gets a full hand to the ball he's got to save it, but he's only a baby.
"If you'd said to him at the start of the season 'you're going to play in the first team, or against Liverpool at Anfield', he'd put you in a white jacket."
Irish midfielder Connor Ronan has been sidelined since March with a stress fracture in his back.
At the time he wasn't ruled out for the rest of the campaign. Lambert confirmed he won't return in the next week, but is confident he'll be 100 per cent fit by the time pre-season comes around.
"Connor's doing great and will be back for pre-season," the head coach added. "He's another young one who's come in and looked brilliant.
"Come the summer time he'll be ready to go."
