Wolves trio head for the exit door
Three Wolves players could be set for the Molineux exit door today as the rebuilding of Walter Zenga's squad continues.
James Henry, Ethan Ebanks-Landell and Nathan Byrne are all close to finalising moves to Charlton/Bolton, Sheffield United and Wigan Athletic respectively, it is believed.
Henry is wanted by both Charlton and Bolton on loan, with the Addicks reigniting their long-held interest in the winger.
With Wolves having signed two wingers in recent weeks - Helder Costa and Ola John - and with Ivan Cavaleiro's capture from Monaco imminent, Henry has fallen way down the pecking order.
It marks a major turnaround in fortunes for the 27-year-old, who was third in the player of the season awards in 2015/16.
But the form of Jed Wallace seems to have put the final nail in the coffin. Despite the prospect of moving down to League One, Henry is keen to be playing regular football.
The arrival of Richard Stearman has left Ebanks-Landell's first-team prospects looking unlikely and it's thought Wolves are happy for him to move to League One side Sheffield United on loan.
Academy graduate Ebanks-Landell has just returned from five months out with a broken metatarsal. He was sent off during last night's Under-23s defeat at Chesterfield, although the suspension only applies to the EFL Trophy.
Byrne's prospective exit is the least surprising. He is the only senior player on Wolves' books from last season who has yet to feature in a single one of Walter Zenga's squads this season.
Signed for £1m from Swindon last summer, he struggled to nail down a first-team place.
It's believed his switch to the Latics will be on a permanent deal for around £500,000.
