Wolves in pole position to sign Nick Powell

Wolves are believed to be in pole position to sign ex-Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell.

Several clubs have expressed an interest in the 22-year-old, who was released from Old Trafford last month.

And reports suggest that Molineux is Powell's preferred destination.

The player has even starting following Wolves' official Twitter account.

Hull - who had the player on loan at the KC Stadium last season - and Wolves' Championship rivals Bristol City have also been speaking to Powell.

Former England Under-21 international Powell moved to United from Crewe in 2012 for £4m.

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett admitted last week that any deal for Powell was on hold until the prospective takeover of the club had been completed.

And with that expected to be just days away, Powell could soon be confirmed as a Wolves player.
