WATCH: Wolves' Kevin McDonald in demand as Kenny Jackett confirms interest
Kenny Jackett has confirmed that Kevin McDonald is in talks over a Wolves exit - as it emerged a number of clubs are interested in the midfielder.
Wolves are believed to have accepted a bid from Fulham for McDonald.
But a number of clubs are now chasing McDonald, with one of those thought to be Sheffield Wednesday.
And any move for McDonald is not dependent on a potential imminent takeover of the club, meaning he is likely to depart Molineux in the coming days.
The Scot was left out of the squad for Saturday's behind-closed-doors friendly draw against Shrewsbury Town.
After a turbulent 12 months in which McDonald initially rejected a new contract offer and was later dropped for the last two months of the campaign amid rumours of a falling-out with Jackett, his exit would come as no surprise.
However the timing is peculiar, coming just two weeks after Jackett said the 27-year-old was being offered a fresh start at Wolves.
Jackett today told the Express & Star that a bid from from an unnamed club - believed to be Fulham - changed the situation.
Jackett added: "There has been some interest and all parties are considering it at present.
"It's something that's come out of the blue – he hasn't expressed any desire to leave."
"At present all parties are considering it including Kevin himself."
Jackett confirmed that McDonald trained on Monday morning at Compton Park.
