The match took place at Compton Park and saw Kenny Jackett field different sides in each half, with Henry's goals giving Wolves a 2-0 half time lead before Shrewsbury hit back after the break.

Goalkeeper Andy Lonergan featured in Wolves colours for the first time, while the returning Lee Evans also got a run-out after spending last season on loan at Bradford.

Teenagers Niall Ennis, Connor Ronan, Christian Herc and Hakeem Odoffin were among those to feature in the second half.

However Carl Ikeme, Kevin McDonald, Nathan Byrne and Ethan Ebanks-Landell were not involved, with the reasons behind their absences not clear.

Others who missed the game were injury victims Nouha Dicko and Mike Williamson, while David Edwards is on holiday for two and a half weeks after his Wales exertions.

Sylvain Deslandes has recently been away with France under-19s.

It was Wolves' first friendly match of their pre-season campaign, although no supporters or press were allowed to watch.

They will next travel to Crewe Alexandra on Friday evening ahead of a six-day trip to Cork which includes a game against Cork City on Monday July 18.

Whether Jackett will still be in charge - with a takeover by Robin Li believed to be days away and potential next boss Julen Lopetegui said to be waiting in the wings - remains to be seen.

Wolves first half: Lonergan, Iorfa, Batth, Hause, Doherty, Evans, Price, Saville, Wallace, Mason, Henry.

Wolves second half: Flatt, Odoffin, Hayden, Leak, O'Hanlon, Coady, Herc, Ronan, Hunte, Ennis, Enobakhare.
