Kenny Jackett says he's not worrying about any rumoured imminent takeover at Wolves – and that he hasn't spoken to the board to get assurances about his future.

Rumours persist in Spain that Jackett will soon be sacked and replaced by Spanish ex-Porto boss Julen Lopetegui, amid a takeover by Chinese multi-billionaire Robin Li.

It was business as usual at Compton Park yesterday, with Jackett taking training on Thursday morning. And speaking exclusively to the Express & Star, he said he certainly hoped it wasn't the case that his job was under threat.

"I certainly have seen the rumours and the club have responded," Jackett said.

"I do understand that when clubs are up for sale there's potential for change, we understand that. I certainly hope it's not the case.

"But as far as the board of directors are concerned, I'm sure when they have something concrete to go on they make the announcement.

"I haven't had any assurances (from the board), only because I haven't seen or spoken to the people that I work for.

"I presume they're busy, it's not a situation where they're here all the time anyway."

Jackett was happy to take questions on the subject yesterday.

And Wolves remain tight-lipped on the feverish speculation, which has been extensively reported in Spain but not elsewhere.

Jackett added of the rumours: "I don't know anything about those, I haven't been told anything about those particular situations. Obviously the club have put out a statement and as far as I'm aware that's the case.

"There's nothing in terms of the takeover of the club, first and foremost, that I've been told.

"Jez Moxey said at the end-of-season dinner that there were discussions going on and I'm sure that's been the case all the way through the summer.

"I'm not sure as to whether those discussions are close and similarly, if they do go through, what my position is going to be.

"I haven't got any information on those two questions.

"But it is fair to say there have been discussions with different people throughout the summer about the sale of the club.

"You are aware of (speculation), for a start. It's part of football management.

"It's not something I can affect, and can't worry about.

"Also when a club is up for sale the head coach's position, there's quite often speculation about it. One does go with the other."

In other news, Wolves target Nathael Julan has signed a three-year contract to remain with French side Le Havre.
