Wolves are not selling Dominic Iorfa
Wolves have issued a 'hands-off' warning to any Premier League clubs considering a move for Dominic Iorfa by insisting the defender is not for sale.
West Ham and Crystal Palace are among several top flight clubs thought to be targeting the highly-rated England under-21 international.
But Wolves insist they have no intention of selling a player who, at the age of just 20, is already established as a key part of Kenny Jackett's team.
He was last month named Young Player of the Year. Iorfa made 46 appearances last season and is contracted until summer 2019, having signed a new deal last November.
Reports have suggested Wolves will demand £7million for a player who is considered one of the best defensive prospects outside the top flight.
It's understood those clubs making tentative enquiries as to his availability have been told bids are not welcome.
Southend United would be entitled to 15 per cent of any transfer fee thanks to a sell-on clause, which was inserted in the deal which saw Iorfa move from Roots Hall to Molineux five years ago.
The player himself is believed to be happy at Wolves and has a strong working relationship with head coach Kenny Jackett.
His father, Dominic Iorfa Senior, issued a statement earlier this week denying reports suggesting he had handed in a transfer request.
Wolves are, meanwhile, expected to step up efforts to bolster their forward line over the coming days.
Anderlecht's Idrissa Sylla remains a prime target and Wolves are understood to have lodged a bid for the Guinea international, who will require a work permit before any deal can be completed.
They are also thought to be among a number of clubs keeping tabs on Manchester United striker Ashley Fletcher.
The 20-year-old scored nine goals while helping Barnsley to promotion from League One and is weighing-up his options, after being offered a new deal at Old Trafford.
Both Barnsley and Leeds have also expressed an interest and would seem to be leading the way, should Roberts choose to depart.
