Fans' Poll: Wolves supporters offer a way back for Steve Morgan

Almost two-thirds of Wolves fans have offered an olive branch to Steve Morgan – and believe there is a way back for the want-away owner.

Morgan resigned as chairman last September and has been looking to sell the club ever since.

But 62 per cent of supporters who took part in our Express & Star fans' survey believe the relationship between them and Morgan could be successfully repaired if a buyer isn't forthcoming.

The results of the survey, published in full today, otherwise deliver a damning indictment on the performance of the Molineux hierarchy.

Around three quarters – or 74 per cent – aren't happy with the job chief executive Jez Moxey is doing.

And even more than that – 79 per cent – think recruitment chief Kevin Thelwell should be doing better.

Opinion on Kenny Jackett's future with the club is split almost 50/50, while 62 per cent are unhappy with his performance this season.

Wolves' controversial sponsorship deal with The Money Shop has attracted fierce criticism and sparked a 13,000-signature petition opposing the partnership with the payday lender.

But in our survey, 47 per cent of fans are either pleased with the deal, or not bothered. A higher number of 58 per cent believed the agreement has damaged the club's reputation, however.

Elsewhere, more than two-thirds agreed that Wolves should look at introducing safe standing at Molineux, in the wake of Scottish side Celtic doing the same.

And, interestingly, a huge 77 per cent said that 'having the club's long-term interests at heart' was the most important attribute of a potential new owner.

That left 'the more money they've got, the better' (10 per cent) and 'someone who loves football' (13 per cent) lagging behind.

Morgan has still not spoken publicly about Wolves since his shock decision to sell up.

A host of names have been linked with buying Wolves – and Moxey has hinted that serious discussions have taken place – but no takeover has yet been forthcoming.
