Steve Bull: Ending on a high was what fans deserved

It was great to end the season on a high with that 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

That's exactly what the fans needed to see before everyone signed off for the summer.

There was a great atmosphere inside Molineux for what felt like the first time ni a long time.

Wolves fans will never let you down. They'll have a moan, as they're entitled to, but they'll stick behind you through thick and thin and I loved hearing them in full voice.

The players gave a good account of themselves and played some decent football.

Sheffield Wednesday may have fielded a weakened side but if you look at their XI it certainly wasn't a bad team and you can only beat what's put in front of you.

Matt Doherty cleaned up at the end of season awards and it was fully deserved.

He's been brilliant in the second half of the season and I've enjoyed watching him bomb up and down that left wing.

I'd stick with him at left back next season. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Jez Moxey said at the awards that discussions with potential owners are ongoing.

I'd love to think we get something concrete before the start of next season.

As I've said before, Steve Morgan's done a great job with Wolves, but if he wants to go then we need a fresh start sooner rather than later.

A few players were released this week and it wasn't a surprise to see any of them go.

With Bjorn Sigurdarson, they couldn't justify a new contract after he didn't manage to score a single goal.

I felt a bit sorry for him, they didn't create any chances for him, but he and Wolves both move on now.

As for Razak Boukari, six games in four years, I've never known injury luck like it, not even in the 1990s when there were serious injuries all over the place.

Zeli Ismail was also on the list and I've no idea why he hasn't fulfilled that massive potential.

The "£100m" tag was a heavy burden and may have been too much pressure for him.

Hopefully at a new club he can relax a bit more with a clean slate and become a very good player.

It was also no surprise to see that there's no permanent deal for Adam Le Fondre.

He's a chaser, a worker and I think he'll get goals in the right partnership, but he didn't fit in at Wolves for whatever reason.

Kenny Jackett has said he wants Kevin McDonald to stay and I think whatever's happened there, let's have McDonald letting his football doing the talking next season.

At times he's stood out a mile at the classiest player at the club. You want him in your team and playing well. If he wants to stay too then I'm happy with that.

I'm delighted to launch my new website this week – bullybully.net – where you can keep up to date with everything I get up to.

It's bostin' so make sure you have a look.
