Boss Kenny Jackett believes Wolves need more 'experience and nous' if they're to shine in the Championship next season.

The Wolves boss watched his team play well in patches as they drew 1-1 at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

But he felt a lack of experience was one of the contributing factors as his side failed to claim victory.

Jackett said: "I felt Forest were more experienced than us and in certain situations it showed.

"Particularly at the end of the first half when we looked like we couldn't get out down our left hand side, didn't do well enough defensively and didn't do the basics.

"We have to get the right balance in the team and keep working away because there are some good players there, but at times we're inexperienced for the division.

"Sides like Forest have got that experience. We look like we're lacking some nous and experience for the division.

"I think we have got some inexperience and some naivety in the team and in the squad.

"We need to address and adjust now – we have lost a lot of forwards and a lot of creative players. We're certainly lacking in options up front."

The likes of Connor Hunte, Bright Enobakhare and Bradley Reid – in a first-team squad for the first time – remained on the bench as Jackett made just one substitution.

But he again pointed to inexperience as a reason for not making more changes.

Jackett added: "Giving young players experience is good but those young players have to be good enough to play in the Championship.

"I felt that the players on the pitch were the ones that had the most potential to score. The likes of James Henry, Dave Edwards, George Saville have been the ones getting the goals."
