'Let's do it for the fans,' is the message from Kenny Jackett and defender Matt Doherty as Wolves look to end their season on a high.

A dreadful run of three wins in 18 games has dampened optimism at Molineux, where the players have been booed off in recent games.

Wolves travel to Nottingham Forest tomorrow backed by 2,000 supporters having sold out their allocation.

And Jackett wants to reward them with three points.

He said: "I understand we've got 2,000 people going – we want to reward them with a performance and a win. It shows you the level of commitment and it's much appreciated by myself and the players.

"It'll be good to finish off with a victory if possible.

"We want to go up there and put on a very good performance."

Jackett has often spoken of the importance of the relationship between his team and the fans.

But that has gone sour of late with supporters apathetic and frustrated at Wolves' underwhelming season.

The Wolves boss added: "The link between the team and the supporters is a real key one.

"We've had good support this year, they've come out in their numbers and they've travelled away in their numbers, highlighted this weekend in Nottingham.

"They're coming to see a positive display and when they see that they'll get right behind the team, which is great.

"From our side of it, the coaching staff and the players, that's all you can ask, and it's your responsibility to put that performance to encourage them. Every game I want to win, and I set out to do so.

"If we could finish off with two wins that'd be great. It would make a difference going into the summer."

Irishman Doherty, who was this week named as the Young Wolves player of the season, echoed his boss' sentiments.

The 24-year-old said: "I saw that we'd sold out the allocation and we've got 2,000 fans going.

"We're going to go and play for them.

"The games still mean something – we don't want to go away with two losses."

Wolves will be without Adam Le Fondre who is suffering with a side strain and is a doubt for the last match of the season at home to Sheffield Wednesday next weekend.
