Wolves drew 0-0 yet again on Saturday – their fourth in a row at home, setting a club record. They have also equalled the club record for 0-0 draws in a league season, which now stands at eight.

Kenny Jackett's team missed several good chances against Neil Warnock's Rotherham. And Batth feels progress was made, despite a repeat of the same scoreline.

He said: "I thought it was better than our recent home games, it was controlled and more constructive, there was more of a pattern to our play.

"I think the fans can see that. We've got a young squad who are giving 100 per cent.

"It was frustrating in one way because we didn't score but at the same time the stats were better, we had more shots, more possession in better areas, and there was a better pattern.

"It's progress but ultimately we're here to win and score. It was a clean sheet, we limited them to a few chances, I thought we were always in control really.

"We had to lift our standards but we found a block whenever we got to their 18-yard box.

"We created chances but we didn't convert, which has been the story of the past three or four games.

"People have been saying there's nothing to play for but I think (the Sheffield Wednesday game) will be like a cup final here.

"We want to win, we want to score, and continue the clean sheets as well."

Batth had young left-back Sylvain Deslandes next to him at left back, while fellow teenager Bright Enobakhare started his first Championship game as Jackett turned to youth.

How did Batth rate the youngsters? He said: "Sylvain was good, he's dynamic, he got forward well, he puts his head on the line.

"Bright's very new, he's finding his feet in England let alone in front of the fans, so it's difficult but he showed some good touches."
