PREAMBLE

It's not quite 10k to MK this time...and 1.3k to MK doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

But it isn't just the attendance that'll be starkly different as Wolves make their second visit to Stadium mk, writes Wolves correspondent Tim Spiers.

Optimism, pride, hope and jubilation were emotions felt by all Wolves fans in April 2014.

Liam McAlinden scored the winner in front of around 9,000 travelling fans (the 10k target was unattainable due to ticket restrictions) with Jackett's team on their way to promtoion.

Fast forward two years and Kenny Jackett must be sick to the back teeth of saying how he wants those good times to return to Molineux.

"Giving optimism for next season" is Jackett's current mantra but his players weren't singing from the same hymn sheet on Saturday, resulting in a dull-as-ditchwater goalless draw against Ipswich.

Any momentum accrued from the sparkling performance at Burnley two weeks earlier was lost.

And that's indicative of an inconsistent and underwhelming season which has seen Wolves take one step forward and one step back, week after week.

Should we expect anything different from the remaining seven matches?

There's no evidence to suggest we should. Although the returning David Edwards, added to a fit-again James Henry, do at least give Jackett much-needed options and competition for places.

David Edwards is back in contention after more than two months out

MK Dons suffered a devastating defeat at relegation rivals Fulham on Saturday to leave them four points adrift of the Cottagers below the safety line.

With resurgent Rotherham earning 16 points from their last six, Karl Robinson may make changes as he desperately looks to win three points.

He'll be without goalkeeper David Martin and winger Rob Hall, who have hand and knee injuries respectively.

Wolves' defence has tightened considerably of late. They've conceded two in four matches (or five in the last six, after letting in 12 in seven before that).

But in implementing a more pragmatic approach since the 3-0 horror show at Brentford, the goals have dried up at the other end.

It's just one in three for Wolves' misfiring forward line, and Jackett's main dilemma on Tuesday night is who to select in the front three positions.

Bjorn Sigurdarson, Michal Zyro and Jeremy Helan started on Saturday - and were all substituted.

Henry, Joe Mason, Adam Le Fondre, Connor Hunte and Nathan Byrne are options should Jackett make changes.

David Edwards could make a shock return to the squad, two weeks ahead of schedule, with Jackett deciding on Tuesday morning whether to include the Welshman.

MK Dons' former Wolves man Darren Potter

MK Dons (4-2-3-1): Cropper; Baldock, Kay, Walsh, Lewington; Forster-Caskey, Potter; Bowditch, Williams, Murphy; Revell. Subs: Burns, Long, Spence, Baker, Carruthers, Powell, Maynard.

Wolves (4-3-3): Ikeme; Iorfa, Batth, Hause, Doherty; Coady, Price, Saville; Henry, Mason, Zyro. Subs: Martinez, Deslandes, McDonald, Helan, Edwards, Sigurdarson, Le Fondre.

DANGERMAN

Alex Revell: Experienced striker who moved from Cardiff City on transfer deadline day. The 32-year-old has notched two goals since leaving the Welsh side and will be a handful.

FORM GUIDE

One win from eight for MK Dons and none in their last four.

Successive 2-1 defeats have seen them cut adrift of 21st-placed Fulham.

Goals have been their problem all season, having netted just 33 times in 39 matches. No team in the Championship, League One or League Two has scored fewer.

Wolves are unbeaten in four, with the last three of those being draws.

They've lost one in six and need to continue with that form if they're to finish in the top half.

Jackett's team are currently 12th but it's tightened up below them with 18th-placed Huddersfield just four points behind.

MATCH ODDS

Most bookies actually make the struggling Dons favourites to win this one at 6/4, with Wolves generally 9/5 and the draw 21/10.

A repeat of that 1-0 scoreline in Wolves' favour from two years ago is 7/1.

For top scorer James Henry to notch first in a 2-0 Wolves win you can have 100/1.

And for former Wolves midfielder Darren Potter to net the only goal of the game for the hosts you can win £80 on a £1 bet.

Wolves took 9,000 to Stadium mk two years ago

November 28, 2015 (Championship), Wolves 0 MK Dons 0. We normally look back at the last five home or away fixtures between Wolves and their opponents, but clearly that's not possible with MK Dons as the two teams have only ever played each other three times. This season's reverse fixture saw Wolves dominate, but somehow fail to score, in a hugely frustrating Molineux stalemate.

March 29, 2014 (League One), MK Dons 0 Wolves 1. A famous day at MK. Liam McAlinden scored just nine minutes from time to send 9,000 travelling fans potty. Wolves were promoted a few weeks later.

December 14, 2014 (League One), Wolves 0 MK Dons 2. Wolves only lost five times in the league all season and this was one of them. Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford opened the scoring before Ben Reeves' long-range stunner sealed a deserved away win.

Kenny Jackett wants more creativity from his team

Karl Robinson: "I've not even looked at where they are in the league, I don't really worry about that. I look at the way they play.

"We try and tactically stop them, but there will be elements we can exploit. Wolves won't be coming here to sit on the beach, that's for sure.

"Kenny is a winner. He's already said he's planning for next season.

"He's in the process of turning the club around. It's refreshing, but his players are playing for their place next year."

Kenny Jackett: "We've had a run of draws and while we don't want to undo things at the back we do want to get better going forward, as a side, create more chances and look more potent.

"The run we're on where every game has been tight and could have gone either way, they're a feature of this time of the year.

"(MK Dons are) fighting for their lives. They won't want to give that status up easily, they'll be fighting for everything."

THE REF

Mark Heywood (West Yorkshire): Two red cards in two lower league games for Mr Heywood, who has sent off five players in total this season.

He red-carded seven in 27 last season and it's his first Wolves game since the 3-0 home loss to Peterborough in 2012.

PREDICTION

There will be a determination to get back to the attacking formula seen at Burnley, and Wolves will surely improve from Saturday's stalemate.

The unbeaten run to be extended with a 2-1 away win.
