Kenny Jackett: Scott Golbourne criticism is not an issue

Kenny Jackett has played down any perceived criticism from former Wolves defender Scott Golbourne.

The left-back was quoted on his new club Bristol City's website as saying he had 'just forgot what playing football was really about' at Wolves.

Golbourne also said he'd had to play a more defensive role at Wolves than for his new club.

But Jackett said: "I'm sure the context of what he's saying, is something perhaps to do with where he is now, what he's being asked to do, their style of play.

"He's not a person that would deliberately be critical, I think, of a past regime.

"Some context, some focus on where he is now, I think is where he's come from. Scott, when he was here, was a very good professional. I had a really good relationship with him.

"With his contract up, we obviously decided not to renew that and made the decision to take the money that was there, and then in that situation wish him all the best and thank him for what he's done, and what he's done for me."
