Wolves winger James Henry will be out of action for three weeks with a hamstring injury, it has been revealed.

Henry limped off in the early stages of Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Preston at Molineux.

The 26-year-old underwent scans on the injury yesterday, which revealed he has suffered a grade one hamstring strain, with his absence expected to be three weeks.

That timescale would rule him out of Wolves' next four matches, against Huddersfield Town, Brentford, Derby County and Middlesbrough.

And it comes at the worst possible time for Kenny Jackett, who was without seven first-team players for the Preston loss.

Defenders Mike Williamson and Kortney Hause are expected back imminently after missing two and four months respectively with hamstring injuries.

Michal Zyro is out with a calf problem, David Edwards won't be back until April with a broken metatarsal.

And Nouha Dicko, Jordan Graham and Razak Boukari are all long-term absentees with serious knee injuries.

Bjorn Sigurdarson and Emiliano Martinez have just returned from back and thigh injuries. Kenny Jackett recently labelled the injury crisis as the worst seen in his Wolves tenure.

Henry has been one of Wolves' brightest performers this season.

And with seven goals he is currently the top-scorer in the squad, with 10-goal Benik Afobe having departed for Bournemouth last month.

Edwards is next on four, meaning that Adam Le Fondre and Kevin McDonald, on three goals each, are now Jackett's top-scoring available players.

After Saturday's defeat Jackett said Henry's injury was 'another frustration'.

He added on Henry and the current injury situation: "That is another frustration because he has been a good player and a key player for us this season and has seven goals as well.

"We need to come through this key period having had injuries to key people and get the side to settle down and go again."

The Wolves boss was annoyed that his players didn't think to put the ball out of play when Henry went down with the injury.
