If Wolves beat Preston tomorrow it''ll be just their fifth home victory of the season.

So far they've played 15 at Molineux and won four, scoring just 19 goals along the way.

Charlton, Huddersfield, Reading and Fulham are the four teams to have been defeated at Molineux.

Kenny Jackett knows that transforming his team's home fortunes is paramount if they're to revive their faint play-off hopes.

He said: "You want all of your form to be good, but your home form, us being successful at home, us winning games and playing a brand of passing football that entertains is what I want from home performances."

Inconsistency has been the bane of Wolves' campaign. Of 30 matches home away they've won 10, drawn 10 and lost 10.

What does Jackett put that down to?

"It's different facets," he said. "But the table doesn't lie, we are where we are.

"In recent weeks we've sold a player and had injuries to people who have commanded first team places.

"But there was a lot to base it on at Reading. I do believe as a team we're not far away.

"We're close, we're not where we want to be.

"We want to be up at the top and competing with the top sides. We're not quite there yet and the table doesn't lie."

Jackett tinkered with the formation slightly at Reading last week, playing 4-3-3 after what was more of a 4-2-3-1 in the previous game's hugely disappointing 2-2 draw at home to Bolton.

Does Jackett envisage changing the formation regularly, or sticking with one more often than not?

He said: "Generally we've played 4-3-3 and that's been my preferred formation.

"But yes, if I feel that we can make use of some quality players by changing that, I'll do it."
