Saville looked at home in Wolves' 4-3-3 formation as they earned a point at Reading on Saturday.

It was the 21-year-old's first league start in gold and black since the 4-0 defeat to Brentford back in November 2014.

But, having clearly benefitted from a loan spell at Millwall earlier this season, he's now hoping to stake a claim for permanent inclusion in the starting line-up.

He said: "I hope so. I've been out on loan a couple of times. I just have to keep my head down and keep working hard, do what I can for the team and hopefully string a few appearances together.

"It's been a difficult period, I've been out on loan, but that's part and parcel of the game. As a young footballer I just need to keep working hard and do what I can.

"I need to try my best and keep going. I needed to get some games and get my fitness up. I've done that now and I want to do my best for the team."

Saturday's appearance was his 12th for Wolves, since a £1million move from Chelsea at the start of last season.

How did the left-footer feel he fitted into the side, alongside Conor Coady and Kevin McDonald in midfield?

He said: "I enjoyed it. I like playing with the three in midfield. Hopefully, we can push on.

"It's a good role for me, breaking up the play, finding the pockets and then setting up the front three to try and get on the attack.

"It would have been better to get all three points, but we'll take a point away from home in a tough game.

"I think we had the better chances and we could have nicked it. On another day we would have, so we just have to keep going.

"It's a good balance, obviously left and right with Kev holding, we worked well together I think. It was quite an open game."

The play-offs look a remote possibility for Wolves are the moment, but Saville refused to write off their top six hopes.

He added: "You never know, you can't write it off. There is a gap but three or four wins in a row, you never know."
