Midfielder Edwards will need to undergo surgery next week after breaking his fifth metatarsal during Saturday's 1-1 draw at Loftus Road.

The injury is expected to rule out the Welsh international for 12 weeks.

Michal Zyro meanwhile is expected to be ruled out for six weeks with the calf injury picked up last week.

The Polis international had scored three goals in as many games since arriving from Legia Warsaw at the start of the month.

"Unfortunately Dave fractured his fifth metatarsal during a tackle in the game on Saturday," said Head of Medical Phil Hayward.

"It is an injury which will need surgery to be repaired which he will have done early this week.

"Following that the normal rehabilitation time is around 12 weeks so we expect Dave to be out of action until around the middle to end of April.

"Michal has sustained an injury to his calf which is complicated in that it is not just the muscle affected but the tendon structure between the muscles as well.

"It is a very important structure because there is a lot of load transmitted through that part of the leg and so it needs to heal completely and be 100 per cent strong before Michal goes back into competition again.

"We expect the rehabilitation process to be between six and eight weeks but will also be re-scanning the injury on a regular basis and will be led by the scan results as well as how he is symptom-wise."

Meanwhile Jordan Graham will undergo surgery to repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament on Wednesday.

Graham is expected to be sidelined for between nine and 12 months.
