Graham could be out until 2017 after tearing his cruciate ligament.

It is a huge blow for both player and club, with Graham having lit up Wolves' team in recent weeks, providing eight assists and scoring one goal in his 12 appearances.

The youngster joins Nouha Dicko in the treatment room, who suffered the same injury last August.

Head of medical at Wolves, Phil Hayward, explained how it happened.

He said: "It was one of those almost freakish situations where he was caught slightly off balance and his knee went into a hyper-extended position and that is what did the damage

"He is going to see a consultant towards the end of this week and will then have surgery in the coming weeks.

"It is very disappointing for Jordan because he has been doing very well but he is already feeling positive about starting his rehab and getting in here and working hard.

"He is keen to get the operation done and get on the road to recovery and back to doing as well as he has been before sustaining the injury.

"It is probably too early to be talking about exact timescales because that will depend on the outcome of the surgery.

"But with cruciate ligament injuries we know it is a lengthy process and it will probably be well into next season before he is back available."

Boss Kenny Jackett added Graham would get all the assistance he needed in his recovery.

The head coach said: "I spoke to him yesterday on the phone and there's a bit of shell-shock. The medical team initially did fear the worst, within an hour of the game.

"There's every chance and opportunity for him on what is going to be quite a long road. It's a blow for him personally and it's a blow for the club."
