Wolves' Jordan Graham out for 9-12 months with ACL tear

Wolves have been dealt a huge blow with the news Jordan Graham has been ruled out for between nine and 12 months with an ACL tear

Graham sustained the injury during the 3-1 loss to Cardiff City on Saturday.

The 20-year-old winger has been in sensational form for the with a string of assists since returning from his successful loan spell at Oxford United.

The news will come as a bitter blow to Kenny Jackett who lost Benik Afobe in a £10m deal to Bournemouth two weeks ago.

Head of Wolves' Medical department Phil Hayward explained: "Jordan has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and his lateral collateral ligament.

"He is going to see a consultant towards the end of this week and will then have surgery in the coming weeks.

"It was one of those almost freakish situations where he was caught slightly off balance and his knee went into a hyper-extended position and that is what did the damage.

"It is very disappointing for Jordan because he has been doing very well but he is already feeling positive about starting his rehab and getting in here and working hard.

"He is keen to get the operation done and get on the road to recovery and back to doing as well as he has been before sustaining the injury.

"It is probably too early to be talking about exact timescales because that will depend on the outcome of the surgery.

"But with cruciate ligament injuries we know it is a lengthy process and it will probably be well into next season before he is back available."

Head Coach Kenny Jackett has also backed Graham to come back stronger after the lengthy rehabilitation process.

"The injury is bad news for Jordan and bad news for Wolves but he is young enough to overcome it," said Jackett.

"He is expected to be out for between nine and 12 months and will get every support that he needs from the club going forward, with the aim of coming back stronger.

"Many other players have overcome this injury and Jordan is young enough and good enough to come back stronger next season."
