Golbourne has missed the last three games, with Irishman Matt Doherty playing out of position at left-back.

With Wolves having kept successive clean sheets, it seems the shirt is Doherty's for now.

Talks over extending Golbourne'sontract are ongoing, with the 27-year-old's current deal expiring at the end of the season.

But Jackett said: "There's no issue. We have had contract talks, there hasn't been an agreement.

"It isn't why he's out of the team, I just felt in terms of a physical presence our back four needed to be as big as possible.

"(Especially) after the Leeds game where it was difficult for us power-wise to hold Leeds."

Golbourne has been with Wolves since August 2013.

He was an instant hit with supporters, playing 50 games in all competitions in 2013/14, before a persistent foot injury left him playing, at his own admission, at '80 per cent' last season, with Kortney Hause often preferred at left-back.

During the current campaign he seemed back to his best, but was dropped after the Leeds defeat.

Jackett added: "Matt Doherty's responded well, he's come in and taken his opportunity.

"But for Scott it can swing back his way, he's an experienced left-back and I've won many games with Scott Golbourne.

"There is no (contract) issue but we haven't had an agreement yet.

"Scott Golbourne is an ultimate professional, his attitude is very good in terms of his work and commitment to the club."
