Winger Rajiv van La Parra claims Wolves have not contacted him at all during his loan spell with Brighton.

The Dutchman is desperate to extend his stay with Chris Hughton's high-flying team, who host Wolves on Friday.

Van La Parra is ineligible to face his parent club and his loan deal is due to expire a day later.

But the 24-year-old has no desire to return to Molineux and thinks he has been shabbily treated by bosses at Wolves.

He added that the lack of a contract offer made it clear what Wolves thought of him.

He said: "If a team send a player on loan I think they have to keep an eye on him, keep contact to ask how it is and how you are getting on.

"I was expecting some contact but nobody contacted me. It says enough for my situation there and how the people think about me, maybe.

"I think it's a normal thing to make contact with a player on loan when he is still under contract with you."

Van La Parra has impressed during his short spell at the Amex, scoring as many goals in five appearances (two) as he has registered in 48 games for Wolves

He found himself surplus to requirements under boss Kenny Jackett, behind James Henry and Nathan Byrne in the pecking order.

Van La Parra almost moved to Leeds on transfer deadline day, then a loan move to Bolton fell through when the Lancashire club's financial situation began to unravel.

With Wolves signing another winger in Michal Zyro, it seems his Molineux days are numbered.

Of Zyro's move from Legia Warsaw, he said: "I have seen that. I hope he is a good player and he can help the team.

"Maybe it makes things easier for me to stay (at Brighton). If it's an option I would love to stay here. I'm very happy with the team.

"They look after me and the gaffer as well. I'm in a good place. Of course I think I can be the winger for Brighton, but it's not only my decision.

"I have to wait for the club and Wolves, as well, if they get an agreement that I can stay. I have a contract at Wolves but I prefer to stay, because I play games here and get confidence.

"Why would I go back to a place where I wasn't playing?"
