Wolves wonderkid Bright Enobakhare has been disciplined by the club for going AWOL.

But the 17-year-old was welcomed back into the dressing room with a round of applause, boss Kenny Jackett has revealed.

Enobakhare was initially allowed time off for a family issue, the club said, but then failed to return and left bosses unaware of his whereabouts.

He returned to training on Tuesday after 13 days away from Compton Park.

And the Nigerian is in line to pull on a Wolves shirt again either this Sunday when the under-21s travel to Derby, or next Thursday when Wolves play MK Dons in the FA Youth Cup. The youngster reconciled with the club by phoning academy boss Gareth Prosser on Monday.

Jackett said of the reunion: "He was okay, he apologised but obviously had some issues that he had to sort out and he realises that it wasn't quite the correct thing to do. He certainly will have learned from it.

"There has been and will be disciplinary action. That is internal and has been dealt with and accepted and moved on.

"From our point of view we feel we've guided him through quite a difficult situation and as happens with pro footballers and it's part of the life, that can sometimes be conducted in public, which is something that at times as a young footballer you have to get used to."

Enobakhare has been training mostly with the under-21 group since returning to Compton Park, having spent most of the season with the first team.

Jackett now hopes to put the episode behind everyone and concentrate on football again.

"The players gave him a good round of applause when he came into the dressing room on Tuesday morning," the Wolves boss added.

"It's been good for him to be back for training and we've enjoyed having him back.

"He has a really good level of support. He's a young man with a lot of talent.

"He's shown remorse and apologised for the situation.

"It's been good to see him. He's been fine in training, he's trained hard.

"He could be eligible and available for all those groups (first team, under-21s and youth) and he'll be looking forward to putting a Wolves shirt on and playing."

Disciplinary action is likely to have been a fine of one or two weeks' wages.
