The 24-year-old moves to the team currently in second place of the division until January 2.

Van La Parra almost moved to Bolton Wanderers earlier this month, but a prospective takeover at the Lancashire club scuppered the move for financial reasons.

Brighton are known to have long-held an interest in the winger.

He's believed to have spoken to them about a possible permanent move before transfer deadline day in August, with Leeds United also potential suitors.

He scored his one and only league goal for Wolves against Brighton at the Amex Stadium in a 1-1 draw last season.

With James Henry and Nathan Byrne ahead of him in the pecking order for a right-wing berth, he is surplus to requirements for the time being.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton said: "With Sam Baldock currently injured and Kazenga LuaLua having missed the amount of games he has, we have been very keen to bring in offensive options.

"In Rajiv we have a player who was a regularly featured in Wolves' promotion chase last season.

"He will give us pace and creativity in the forward areas, and supplements our existing wide options. He is something different to the players we already have here, and I am delighted to have him on board."

Under the terms of the deal, van La Parra won't be able to play against Wolves when the teams meet on January 1.
