The Dutchman was expected to move yesterday on a 28-day loan.

But the Trotters have pulled out, with an imminent takeover at the Macron Stadium believed to be behind the last-minute snub.

It's not the first time this season that Van La Parra has been left high and dry. Just before the end of the summer transfer window he was thrown in limbo when, after Wolves decided he could leave permanently, a move to Leeds United fell through when the Yorkshire club decided against signing the 24-year-old.

At around the same time right-winger Nathan Byrne transferred to Molineux from Swindon Town, pushing Van La Parra further down the pecking order.

And the luckless winger is now left pondering his future again.

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett said: "It's fallen through at Bolton's end. I'm not sure of the exact reasons but it seems to be financial.

"It's a shame. It's one of those we were certain would happen."

Jackett had a dilemma in deciding whether to let Van La Parra or fellow winger Jordan Graham leave on loan, with Oxford United interested in the latter.

And Jackett insisted these latest developments wouldn't mean Graham would be allowed to go, suggesting that the 20-year-old may finally be in line for a Wolves debut.

"Looking at the games last week against Derby and Liverpool, Jordan played very well in both games," Jackett said.

"I was pleased for him, he's in first team contention.

"I think he's a player who'll excite players, in terms if goals, creating chances and going past people.

"He has a lot of ability and getting up to speed in the Championship can be difficult but certainly a loan spell can build up and confidence and belief."
