Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards has set his sights on Euro 2016 after hailing Wales' "amazing" qualification.more

The 29-year-old has been part of the first Welsh squad to qualify for a major tournament since 1958.

But having reached next summer's finals in France, Edwards is determined to make sure he is in boss Chris Coleman's plans.

"I am very proud to have been part of the squad and played games during the qualification to get there," said Edwards, who was a late substitute in Saturday's 2-0 defeat in Bosnia which was, nevertheless, enough to ensure qualification.

"Now I want to be involved in France because that is something I would relish and look back on for a very long time."

Heading into tonight's final game with Andorra in Cardiff, Wales are guaranteed a top two finish in Group B.

"It is incredible for me personally to be part of an amazing achievement," added Edwards, who has been capped 29 times by his country.

"It is 57 years since Wales went to a major tournament so to be able to it in my playing lifetime and to have been involved with the squad is fantastic.

"I have been in and around the squad for maybe seven or eight years now and there have been some very low times.

"But now we are at a point where the whole nation is really optimistic about Welsh football which is great."

Edwards reckons tonight's game will be played in a party atmosphere, adding: "Tonight will be a chance to celebrate with all the Welsh fans.

"My family will be there and my kids are coming down to watch the game which will be nice for me personally.

"My Dad's parents are from Llangollen and my Grandma is immensely proud as you can imagine!

"The family are all massive Welsh rugby fans so with the World Cup going on and the football it is extra special at the moment.

"It would be good to play a part in the game hopefully but for all of us in the matchday squad it should be a special night to share with the people close to me."
