Several academy graduates have been blooded since Jackett took charge just over two years ago.

Danny Batth, Jack Price and Dominic Iorfa are currently in the first-team.

Carl Ikeme, Bright Enobakhare and Ethan Ebanks-Landell, plus Matt Doherty and Kortney Hause, who joined the club in their late teens, have also featured this season.

The likes of Niall Ennis and Connor Ronan are hoping to be the next to step off the Molineux production line.

And Jackett said: "There is an exciting crop of youngsters coming through.

"There's some very good players in the academy and we want to keep nurturing them and giving them opportunities, making sure they can see a pathway through to the first team.

"It's a route the supporters are very keen on, as are we. You have to work at it, though.

"It's not just about putting an academy building there, it's about producing players and making sure they come through, we have to work at it continuously."

Wolves academy boss Gareth Prosser today offers a rare insight into the inner workings of the club's Compton Park, which has increased in size enormously in terms of both staff and players in recent years.

The club has teams from aged nine upwards and Prosser, who gives daily player updates to Jackett on their progress, believes there is plenty more to come after a successful two years.

Prosser said: "Traditionally, the club have always wanted to bring young players through.

"You've only got to look at the first team and the stats in the past two seasons to see the number of academy players in the team. We're proud of that."
