Chief executive Jez Moxey has issued a rallying cry to fans to get behind Wolves amid the uncertainty caused by owner Steve Morgan's decision to quit the club.

Moxey hopes things will 'settle down' quickly at Molineux and the club and supporters must do their utmost to support the players on the pitch.

And he stressed it would remain 'business as usual' while the club is up for sale.

In his match programme notes, which were released early, Moxey calls on supporters to make Molineux into an intimidating fortress 'as the team battles for every single point.'

Moxey says: "We could use this opportunity to create an even more challenging environment for the opposition as the team battles for every single point.

"We believe it is possible to achieve everything we want to achieve on the field and Molineux is a special place.

"It's where players can enjoy playing with a freedom and a confidence that gives us the best opportunity of seeing that dream come true."

Moxey, who is running the club in the wake of the decision of Morgan to hand over control pending a sale, adds: "Hopefully, everything will settle down again soon.

"It will because, on a day-to-day basis, not too much will change. Steve has stepped down from the board, but is still the owner.

"As this week's statement promised, he will continue to support the club financially where needed."

Moxey also uses his message to supporters to pay tribute to Morgan, who came under fire from a section of fans culminating in a car park row, with a small number of fans ahead of last week's draw at Preston.

He said: "I feel strongly that we have a very good owner, a solid, sensible and wealthy man who supports the team.

"He supports the community, loves the club, understands its history and has always tried to develop a culture where football comes first.

"However, we've received many letters and emails recognising Steve's contribution, thanking him for his efforts as chairman."
