Wolves winger Rajiv van La Parra is a shock target for Championship rivals Leeds United.

The 24-year-old is also thought to be on Brighton's radar, but Leeds' interest is stronger, although they have yet to lodge a bid for the Dutchman.

Van La Parra did not feature in Wolves' opening two league games, but a good performance off the bench against Newport in the Capital One Cup saw him used as a substitute at home to QPR and he started last weekend's 2-0 Championship defeat to Cardiff City.

Any sale would represent a profit for Wolves as they snared Van La Parra on a free transfer last summer when the winger left Heerenveen.

But it is unlikely they would accept anything less than £1.5m for a player who showed big potential during a promising debut season in English football.

Van La Parra was second in Wolves' assist table behind Bakary Sako and head coach Kenny Jackett has marked the Dutchman out as having the ability to flourish as a forward.

He has been in competition with James Henry – the subject of continuous interest from today's opponents Charlton Athletic – for the right-wing slot.

New signing Jed Wallace played there during Tuesday evening's Capital One Cup victory over Barnet.

And Wallace said he is ready to show Wolves fans what he can do – wherever Jackett chooses to pick him.

The 21-year-old, who was hoping to be involved at Molineux today, said of his debut: "It was a steady performance but I can do a lot better. When my fitness gets up to scratch I'll be looking to impact games.

"I'll be looking to show the fans what I can do, and showing them how well I can do for this club."

Wallace scored 17 goals in all competitions last season for Portsmouth.

What can Wolves fans expect from him?

"I'll run my heart out. I'm an attacking player and a big part of my game is scoring goals," he said.

"The 4-2-3-1, I've played that pretty much my whole life, always in one of the three, more than often it's been central but if it's out wide I'm more than happy to be there.

"I want to be involved in a winning team and I can't see why, with the individuals here and the way the manager sets us up, that we can't be winning most weeks."
