The 20-year-old was handed his debut call-up earlier this week and will join up with Gareth Southgate's squad next week for games against the United States and Norway.

Wolves team-mate Kortney Hause joins Iorfa in the squad, as he did when the pair featured in the Toulon tournament for the under-20 side in the summer.

And Iorfa hopes Southgate can help develop his game, saying: "My ambition at international level was to break into the under-21 squad this season, but I didn't know it would be this early.

"Obviously, there is a big turnover of players because some are now too old for this age group and we have just come out of the European Championships in the summer.

"I watched all the games from the Czech Republic in the summer, when Carl Jenkinson played at right-back. I was delighted to receive a text from the FA early days ago telling me I was in this squad.

"I met Gareth Southgate at a training camp at St George's over the summer and hope, as a highly-respected former defender, he can help me further my game."

He's started all four of Wolves' opening league games so far this season and thinks it's been a good challenge playing against sides containing many Premier League players.

Iorfa and Co have already taken on relegated Hull City and Queens Park Rangers and he's hoping for three points against Charlton on Saturday, ahead of the two-week international break.

He said: "It would be lovely to go and report on Sunday teatime with a victory behind us here.

"If that happens, I think we can still look back on this as a pretty good start because we have had a difficult first three or four weeks with matches against clubs not long out of the Premier League.

"I think my own form has gone with the team performances so far. In the games we have done well in, I have been happy with my contribution but it has been a mixture really.

"I am looking to play as many Wolves games as I possibly can this season. I am hoping for a full season in the side and a promotion place.

"We know Charlton will be tough as they have made a good start and are a better team than when they came here with a new manager last winter.

"It's very early days, not even a month into the season, and we were playing very well up to shortly before half-time in the QPR game.

"We were playing some really good football. No-one in the squad is doubting that we still have a lot of quality here but it would be nice to get another win.

"That would send Kortney, myself and the other international lads off very happy."
