Carl Ikeme gets his first Nigeria call-up

Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme has been called up to the Nigeria squad for the first time.

The 29-year-old has been named in manager Sunday Oliseh's squad for the Afcon qualifier against Tanzania on September 3.

Ikeme – whose father was born in Nigeria – was surprisingly dropped by boss Kenny Jackett for the home game against Hull on Sunday.

He recently spoke of his international ambitions and will now compete with Nigeria captain Vincent Enyeama for a place in the side.

He said last month: "My dad was born there and a lot of my family are still in Nigeria, so it would mean something to myself and my whole family."
