Captain Benik Afobe scored Wolves' winner from the penalty spot as they nervously overcame League Two side Newport County at Molineux.

The Welsh side took advantage of some slack early Wolves defending as Kenny Jackett's team started a game on the back foot yet again, with Scott Boden scoring a shock early opener.

But Nouha Dicko soon levelled and then Afobe won and converted a second half penalty. Despite some nervy moments, Wolves saw it through to win their first League Cup game in Kenny Jackett's reign.
