Kenny Jackett is expecting a tough test when he takes his Wolves team to take on Shrewsbury Town at Greenhous Meadow tomorrow.

Wolves have won all three of their pre-season games so far and the head coach is looking for an improved performance as the team build up to their Championship campaign starting on August 8.

Fixtures against Aston Villa (July 28) and Doncaster Rovers (August 1) follow Saturday's clash.

And Jackett said he wanted to see his team begin to take shape with the league season just two weeks away,

"Training's going very well and we're looking forward to the last batch of pre-season games," he said.

"We're looking forward to these and making sure we get through as fit as possible with no injuries, but also as a priority the team taking shape and playing good football as we run up to Blackburn.

"I think what I'm going to have to look at is the three games as a whole, I don't think anybody's going to play the full 95 minutes in all three games, maybe moving people on and off in the second period, with probably the exception of the Aston Villa game.

"Number one priority is the team takes shape, number two is that we have a good look at everybody, let's say 16, 17, 18 players that are closest, they'll get a chance to impress.

"We want the team to flow more. I thought we were pretty solid against Burton and I didn't think there were a lot of goals in their side against us, so defensively we were pretty good, but offensively we were very reliant on the front two and the football didn't particularly flow through the team."

Shrewsbury, like last weekend's opponents Burton Albion, were promoted from League Two last season.

Wolves last faced them in 2013/14, winning 1-0 at Greenhous Meadow and drawing 0-0 at Molineux.

And Jackett said he was anticipating a difficult game against Wolves' Shropshire opponents.

"Micky Mellon's done a very good job there and they've been very strong defensively," Jackett said.

"Similarly to Burton they're on a crest of a wave after their promotion.

"We're pleased to have the game, it'll be a good test for us.

"It will be a big game for Shrewsbury with Wolves coming from a level up from them and their motivation level will be high, so we'll have to match that.

"As we found out two years ago playing Shrewsbury in the League One campaign it will be a tough game."
