Wolves made it two wins from two in France as young striker Donovan Wilson netted a late winner.more

Kenny Jackett again fielded a different side in each half as Wolves took on second-tier Paris FC at the prestigious Clairefontaine academy.

And in a tight match Wolves edged it in the second half with some promising performances from their young stars.

Jackett set Wolves up in a re-jigged 4-3-1-2 formation with Ethan Ebanks-Landell a surprise choice in central midfield, alongside Conor Coady and Tommy Rowe with David Edwards supporting the front two.

Wolves first-half: : Flatt; Doherty, Stearman (c), Hause, Golbourne; Coady, Ebanks-Landell, Rowe; Edwards; Afobe, Dicko.

Wolves second-half: Burgoyne; Weeks, Iorfa, Hayden, Deslandes; Henry, McDonald, Jacobs; Ronan; Van La Parra, Enobakhare (Wilson '71). [/breakout]

Wolves made a better start than they had done against FC Chambly on Wednesday, with Nouha Dicko and Benik Afobe looking sharp up front.

Dicko forced a corner with a rasping 20-yard deflected drive, and from the resulting set piece Rowe's inswinger was headed just over the bar by Ebanks-Landell.

Searing 30C heat and the fact that Paris FC employed a patient passing game meant the first half lacked the bite and competitive nature of the Chambly match.

But both sides fashioned decent chances, with Wolves just missing out when Afobe couldn't quite bring David Edwards' right-wing cross down.

Paris striker Balde then fired over the bar, before midfielder Romain Grange lashed a 25-yarder inches over Jon Flatt's bar.

Wolves were regularly looking for Dicko and Afobe over the top, with Rowe, Edwards and Coady interchangeable in midfield behind them.

Dicko again fired over from outside the area, before Christian Kinkela curled one just wide for Paris after cutting inside.

On the stroke of half time Edwards came the closest to giving Wolves the lead, nodding Matt Doherty's cross against the post from the tightest of angles after a well-constructed Wolves move.

Scored the winner as Wolves beat Paris

But Wolves' play in a new-style midfield lacked fluidity, although Ebanks-Landell protected the back four well without venturing forward too often.

It was all change for the second half with Jackett giving an opportunity to Rajiv van La Parra up front alongside Wednesday's match-winner Bright Enobakhare.

Kevin McDonald was handed the captain's armband and Wolves had good purpose to their play as they looked to break the deadlock.

Connor Ronan, 17, wowed the crowd with some outrageous skill, pirouetting past a couple of Paris players and then taking another on for good measure.

A nice Wolves move then saw Enobakhare show good feet and spray wide to Jacobs, whose teasing cross only just evaded the sliding Van La Parra.

Jacobs then saw a curling 20-yard effort easily saved before Enobakhare fired into the side netting.

The game was warming up nicely and the teams exchanged their best chances of the game inside a minute.

Vincent Pires shot too close to Burgoyne from close range, with the keeper showing good hands, before Van La Parra raced through on goal at the other end but saw his shot parried wide.

Wilson replaced Enobakhare with around 20 minutes to go, ensuring each Wolves squad member took part in the game.

Tommy Rowe of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

And the youngster, who looked sharp after coming off the bench against Chambly, recreated his impact - and went one better with the winning goal.

The 18-year-old, signed permanently from Bristol Rovers in January, turned sharply outside the area and lashed a great shot past the Paris keeper from the edge of the area.

The goal was at last something to cheer for the 150 or so Wolves fans who'd made the journey to France.

And they will have been buoyed by some bright performances from a young second half team, plus a clean sheet to boot at Wolves made it two wins from two.
