Defender Aaron Hayden, midfielders Connor Ronan and Declan Weeks and striker Bright Enobakhare are all mixing it with the first-team in France.

All four were expected to play some part of tomorrow's game against FC Chambly at the Clairefontaine academy.

And Jackett hinted the teenage quartet have a chance of featuring regularly in the main squad if they impress.

Bright Enobakhare of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He said: "They're all players who were with us last season so we know what they're about.

"There are two things – one the opportunities are there for players in their position, which sometimes is fortunate, but we also have high hopes for all of them individually.

"Both Bright and Connor are still eligible to play in our youth team this season and yet they're here with the first team and that's an opportunity.

"We do need to come here with a competitive balanced squad."

Goalkeeper Jon Flatt is also with the squad in Clairefontaine and is now likely to be joined by fellow youngster Harry Burgoyne, owing to Carl Ikeme leaving the tour with a knee injury.

Jackett has never been afraid to blood young talent at Wolves.

Lee Evans, Jack Price, Dominic Iorfa, Kortney Hause and Ethan Ebanks-Landell are just some of the youngsters he has brought through into the first-team set-up.

The head coach added: "For the younger players, sometimes you may get an opportunity just because we're short in that position – but there have been many careers made out of an opportunity.

"We do, in any training session whether in France or England, open ourselves up to look at our younger players.

"Next week when we get to Compton Park there may be some other players depending on who else drops out, which formation I want to work on in that particular week, which through pre-season will vary from week to week.

"So it's an opportunity to look at those players and for them to gain the experience of training with the first team players and for myself and the staff to assess them in that environment."

Price this week signed a new contract with Wolves, which ties him to the club until 2018.

Jackett welcomed the midfielder's new deal and challenged the 21-year-old to step up after the signing of fellow midfielder Conor Coady.

The Wolves chief said: "It's really good news. Looking at the league games he's played for his age it's very good.

"He'll be better and stronger again for the experience he's had.

"He has an excellent attitude and for him now it's about rising to the test and the challenge of a club that sign players in your position. If you are at a good club that does happen."
