Just 33 days remain until the start of the Championship campaign.

The Wolves players were today training at the prestigious Clairefontaine academy, France's equivalent to St George's Park.

Clairefontaine has been home to the tutelage of a series of world-class players who have risen through the French ranks, including Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka.

The secluded state-of-the-art base is set in the heart of the Ramboillet forest and boasts 56 hectares of land and 66,000 square metres of football turf.

Its luxurious facilities include several training grounds, two articificial pitches with floodlights, an indoor pitch and a full-size stadium.

That's where Wolves will play two games, a huge gym, three tennis courts, golf course and indoor and outdoor pools.

Located 30 miles south of Paris, Clairefontaine will be Wolves' home until Saturday. They play their first pre-season game on Wednesday against amateur fourth-tier side FC Chambly.

Wolves then face Paris FC on Friday, with their opponents being from Ligue 2 – France's equivalent to the Championship.

Both games start at 3pm and fans will be eager to see who Kenny Jackett selects from the start, as the head coach gives some early indications of what his 2015-16 Championship team will look like.

For the first 10 days of pre-season leading up to the matches Jackett has split training days into three sessions – running, football and gym work.

Before departing for France, the head coach said: "In Clairefontaine it will be interesting to see, once we do start playing games, where the players are at.

"I've never been. I'm looking forward to seeing it, the facilites and the pitches.

"It'll be a really good week, an excellent tour which is not far to travel to and it'll be nice to see the players playing some games.

"In pre-season maximum fitness and reduction of injury are the two things I talk about as being important. It's an exciting time and a big season for us and we're all looking forward to it."

Jackett once again stressed the importance of youngsters from the under-21 squad grabbing their chance with the first team, as Dominic Iorfa and Kortney Hause did last season.

He said: "Sometimes somebody goes away a boy and comes back a man. Our young players have a lot of potential here and a lot of promise – our under-18s had an outstanding year last year.

"We have a high number of players that I think are on the way up and consistently improving."
