Wolves have completed the signing of Huddersfield Town midfielder Conor Coady.

The 22-year-old former Liverpool man joins on a three-year deal for a fee believed to be around £2m.

Coady impressed for Huddersfield last season, missing only one game and scoring a 30-yard screamer at Molineux in Wolves' 3-1 defeat.

He can also play in defence and will add more competition to a packed Wolves midfield.

Head coach Kenny Jackett said he was delighted to sign Coady.

"He had a very good season at Huddersfield last year - his first at this level - and he will complement the midfield players that we have," Jackett said.

"He is in the type of age group that will have the hunger to improve and try and build on what he did last year.

"We are looking for him to come in and help drive the club forward and pick up from where he left off as an impressive performer in the Championship last year."

Merseyside-born Coady joined Liverpool's academy aged 12, but left the Reds after making just two senior appearances.

Huddersfield snapped him up for around £400,000 last summer after Coady had starred for Sheffield United during a loan spell in League One in 2013/14.

The new signing said: "It's massive for me. I'm really thrilled to be here and I cannot wait to get going. I'm made up.

"It's a huge, huge club and one that I really couldn't turn down.

"Last year was huge for me. Huddersfield was a fantastic club for me to be at and I'm really grateful for what they gave me.

"It's a new chapter now and I really can't wait to get going."Coady is Jackett's third signing of the summer after Jed Wallace and Sylvain Deslandes, although the latter is expected to spend next season with the Under 21 squad.

Huddersfield boss Chris Powell said the deal represented 'outstanding value' for the Terriers.

He said: "We're sad to see Conor leave, but this transfer represents outstanding value for Huddersfield Town and we believe it is the right move for the club on balance.

"Conor also expressed his desire to pursue this opportunity, but we made it clear that the club would only sell him if the terms were right.

"There was no cheap deal to be had. Once it was acceptable to the club, the move suited all three parties.

"Conor is a great young footballer and a fantastic individual, so I'm sure I speak for everyone connected with Huddersfield Town when I wish him the best of luck at his new club."
