Wolves boss Kenny Jackett will be hoping to break his Capital One Cup duck at home to League Two side Newport County.

Jackett will be looking to win his first-ever league cup game in charge of Wolves, although it's unlikely to set the pulses racing among the Molineux faithful.

Wolves crashed out to Northampton Town last season and Morecambe a year earlier, both in the first round.

It will be Wolves' first game against the reformed Newport County, who are managed by former England international Terry Butcher.

Wolves played the old incarnation of Newport four times in the 1980s, winning two and losing two.

In the 1985-86 Third Division Newport did the double over Wolves, winning 2-1 at Molineux and then 3-1 in the return fixture.

Two seasons later, with both team now in the Fourth Division, Wolves turned the tables, winning 2-1 at home and then 3-1 away.

They won the title that season, while Newport finished rock bottom of the Football League. Within a year they had gone out of business and had to reform as a new club.

Newport returned to the Football League in 2013 and have since finished 14th and ninth in League Two.
