Wolves are teetering on the brink of relegation from the Championship - in a fan survey on how good Molineux is to visit.

Away fans from across the country were asked to judge the stadium on things such as the quality of view on offer, as well as food and drink, transport links and stadium layout.

And Wolves placed a lowly 20th out of 24 Championship clubs.

Albion fared far better, with supporters voting them ninth in the Premier League, comfortably ahead of Villa in 14th.

Northern clubs Hull City and Wigan Athletic topped the Premier League and Championship tables, ahead of Southampton and Derby County respectively.

Queens Park Rangers' Loftus Road ground was voted the least popular ground to visit in the top two divisions, in the Football Supporters' Federation survey.

Results from sample surveys of around 100 fans per ground have been sent to each and every club, so bosses can see where they may need to approve the away-day experience for visiting supporters.

Wolves spokesman Matt Grayson defended what the club had to offer.

He said: "The survey is out of step with other feedback we've had and surveys that we've done. If there are areas we can improve further to away fans visiting Molineux, we'll look at it.

"We're always looking to improve and enhance the experience for all fans at Molineux."

Wolves were recently given a Football League Family Excellence Award for 2015.

In April, Molineux was ranked 10th in the Championship for the quality of its pies, toilets and nearby pubs.

Football website ToThe92.co.uk found that Molineux was a favourite stadium of supporters but the ground's atmosphere was criticised after the Stan Cullis stand was rebuilt.
