The 29-year-old is keeping his fingers crossed he is included in Chris Coleman's Wales squad which is announced at 12 noon tomorrow for the Euro 2016 Group B qualifier against Belgium on Friday June 12, at Cardiff City Stadium.

Edwards is itching to join Gareth Bale and Co to face Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard, Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, Villa striker Christian Benteke and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, Toby Alderweireld from Southampton and Tottenham trio Jan Vertonghen, Nacer Chadli and Moussa Dembele could also be involved.

And he is hoping to impress, following the £275,000 signing of Portsmouth's Jed Wallace who, like Edwards, is an attacking midfielder.

Edwards said: "Hopefully, I will be in the squad that's announced tomorrow. I've been keeping myself ticking over fitness-wise in preparation. If I'm not in the squad I will have a couple of weeks off and relax.

"I've been in the last few squads so hopefully I will be involved again but there are a lot of good players to choose from. I'm hoping I've done enough in my last few performances to earn a call-up."

Meanwhile, Wolves will renew acquaintances with Hull City and Preston North End next season.

Sergio Aguero's goal on the final day of the Premier League season for Manchester City meant he and Wolves front man Benik Afobe shared the country's top-scoring honours with 32 strikes apiece.
