Wolves' flying Dutchman Rajiv van La Parra today targeted more goals as he admitted the pressure will be on him next season with Bakary Sako set to leave.

Van La Parra wowed fans and worried opponents with his pacy wing play but scored just once in his 40 League appearances.

Now the 23-year-old admits he must improve his strike rate in his second season in English football as 15-goal top scorer Sako looks to be heading to the Premier League.

"I've been generally pleased with how I've done and now I know the league and what to expect I hope I can do better next season," said van La Parra.

"But the one thing in particular I need to do better on is scoring more goals. I think I've done OK this season but I have to work on scoring more goals.

"Everyone at the club helped me and I'm thankful to them and to the fans for sticking with me.

"I think next season will be better and we'll get a few more players in to make the team even stronger, which is what you need in this league."

Van La Parra admitted recently that he must improve the defensive side of his game but was often marked out as a threat by the opposition because of his searing pace.

And he reckons that has meant he must up his game for next campaign.

"People will expect more from me and I'm expecting more from myself," he said. "So now I'm looking to next season and improving myself more."

Van La Parra is coming up to his first anniversary as a Wolves player after signing on a free transfer from Heerenveen and is happy with the way he has adapted to the cultural differences in the game from Holland.

"Personally I've had ups and downs but for my first season in England I have to be happy," he said. "It's a physical league and often you play three tough games in 10 days."
