Jackett celebrates his ton in charge at home to relegated old club Millwall tomorrow lunchtime (12.15pm) with only a slight chance of reaching the play-offs.

Wolves must win and hope Derby lose at home to Reading and better Brentford's result against relegated visitors Wigan to finish in the top six.

But the head coach, who has had just over 600 games as a manager, is looking to staying at Wolves for another 400 matches as he looks long term.

"It's been very enjoyable, a big challenge but, ultimately, it's a very good club and I'd love to get to 1,000 here," said the head coach.

"I've got just over 600. I did look the other day. Somebody mentioned it and I looked it up.

"Yes, 1,000 it's a good aim. It would be fantastic.

"Am I realistic enough to know that will be tough? Yes."

First of all he's focusing on the next two seasons – providing he is successful.

"I'd love to continue but you don't look too far ahead in football management because my performance and my team's results will dictate that," he said.

Jackett is keen to join the players and staff in the end-of-season walkabout after the final whistle – provided the fans stay off the pitch, otherwise it will be cancelled.

"The staff and players want to show our appreciation to the crowd," he said.

Jackett signs off the scheduled season hinting Wolves need to be more free-scoring next term if their play-off bid fails.

"We did need to up our goals looking at the amount scored by the top sides, they've been very free-scoring and attack-minded and it's good to see," he said.

Benik Afobe has missed out to Derby's Tom Ince for the Championship player of the month award.
