Jackett is refusing to give up on automatic promotion after Edwards' thrilling late winner against Leeds propelled his side into the play-off places last night.

And Edwards insists there are no nerves in the camp as Jackett's men prepare for a final five-game surge.

Edwards, whose strike sealed a 4-3 triumph, said: "We look at the last five games and we think we can win any game at the moment.

"We can get to 86 points if we win our maximum points and that will put you somewhere near.

"We've definitely got the momentum at the moment and there are no nerves, it's just an excited group of young players.

"It was a great moment for me yesterday but just to get the three points was massive.

"The atmosphere at Molineux was absolutely electric. It's the best it's been in a long time and it just keeps getting better and better.

"Every game here will be a full house now and that will play a massive part, so to get the winner in that atmosphere was great.

"We've had this great feeling for a month or two now, thinking no-one is really talking about us and we can sneak into things."

Wolves climbed to sixth place, one point ahead of seventh-placed Brentford and just five behind second-placed Norwich City.

And Jackett is refusing to write off their chances of automatic promotion.

He said: "It looks possible. Games run out but with 15 points to play for you never know. We probably need to win all the games."

Meanwhile, Edwards dedicated the win to Wolves fan Martyn Matthews, who was killed in the Germanwings plane crash in the French Alps and whose widow and children took part in a moving pre-match tribute.

Edwards said: "It was a tragedy and to get the win for them was great."
