And he has challenged his side to use the Molineux support to their advantage as they look for another huge win against Leeds (5.15pm).

He said: "It is a fantastic club which has the potential to be in the Premier League – but that doesn't make it a given that you get in there because you have to earn it in football. But Wolves have Premier League potential and it has a recent history of being in there. After the double relegation it's all of our focus to try to get there again. if we can but it's not something we'll take for granted.

"Are Wolves capable of getting into the Premier League and sustaining it? In my opinion, yes."

"I've been into the Premier League with two clubs as a coach, which is really interesting. I was at Manchester City under Stuart Pearce then Sven Goran Eriksson and then at Watford I was assistant manager to Graham Taylor.

"But never as a manager. It's everyone's aim and ambition and I'm the same. I would love to do that."

Wolves take on another of the Championship's sleeping giants live on Sky Sports this evening and Jackett has urged his players to make the most of home advantage.

He said: "We need to work hard to bring our crowd into play and give them a performance that they can really get behind us with. The crowd that came to Nottingham Forest were excellent and really drove us on."

"It's our responsibility to really bring them into play and get them behind us."
